The Salus Foundation’s March 15, 2011 wine tasting to support the “poorest of the poor” in Lucknow, India was a huge financial success.

On this evening, friends, family and donors of the Salus Foundation joined together to form a human “chain of support” to educate poor girls living in India. Guests were treated to a display of students’ pictures and their crafts and delicious Indian cuisine donated by Dawat and Haveli restaurants. The night however, would not have been possible without the generosity and charm of David Moore of Moore Brothers. Moore Brothers donated the space and wine for our event and David Moore served as our host.

In addition, I would like to acknowledge my friends Barbara Lowenstein, one of the foundation’s biggest cheerleaders and the driving force behind the wine tasting; Loella Medina for her one-of- a-kind hand made jewelry, and Sharon Garfunkel of Sobral for donating one of their pieces from their beautiful handmade jewelry collection for the event’s raffle.
